There’s nothing quite like a winter wedding in the Rocky Mountains. Snow sparkles, crisp cool air drifts across frozen lakes, and the views are nothing less than breathtaking. One spot that is particularly popular with couples looking for the perfect backdrop for their wedding celebration is Emerald Lake.
With the snow falling and blue skies above, Emerald Lake in winter feels like stepping into a real-life snow globe! And with gorgeous venues such as Emerald Lake Lodge available to provide incredible service, a romantic setting, and award-winning dining experiences, you and your guests will be in heaven.
That was certainly the case for Yvonne and Chris during their recent wedding celebration at Emerald Lake Lodge.
Emerald Lake Lodge is a beautiful venue located in the heart of Yoho National Park beside the world-renowned Emerald Lake. With century-old fireplaces, exquisite hand-hewn timber furnishings, and an oak bar salvaged from an 1890’s Yukon saloon, this venue has perfectly blended modern comfort with old-world style.

As the day began, Yvonne and Chris and the rest of the bridal party had a relaxing morning at the lodge getting ready. Plus, a bit of fun, too!
There’s no better way to greet the day than with that fresh Rocky Mountain air!
Not surprisingly, the groom didn’t take quite as much time to get prepared. So, Chris stepped out to enjoy the air and the stunning views before the ceremony began.
With the snow providing a blanket of peace and quiet over the venue, Chris and guests waited excitedly for the bride to make her entrance.
And once she did, there was barely a dry eye in the house. Yvonne looked absolutely stunning as she took her first steps towards everlasting love and commitment with Chris.
When vows were said and rings exchanged, the couple had their first kiss, much to the delight of all their guests.
Everyone could hardly wait to start celebrating, but first, Yvonne and Chris got to take a few moments to themselves to let it all sink in. And after such a beautiful ceremony, it’s no surprise that it was smiles all round for their wedding portraits!
The timber trim of the rooms at Emerald Lake Lodge makes for a perfect cozy winter wedding in the Canadian Rockies.
As dinner got under way, the guests were treated to some heartfelt speeches before the couple got to cut their gorgeous wedding cake.
It’s one of the most romantic moments of the reception, and Yvonne and Chris’s first dance was no exception. As the couple swayed together on the dancefloor (and pulled a few fancy moves, too!), the love in the room was palpable.
As the night went on, Yvonne, Chris, and their fabulous guests showed they really know how to party! It was a great end to a spectacular day.
