Located in the mountain community of Bearspaw in Rocky View County, Flores+Pine opened in 2019 and is quickly becoming a firm favourite with locals, visitors, and couples everywhere.
The new restaurant and venue celebrates its Rocky Mountain home with a combination of local nostalgia and the forging of new memories. So if you’re looking for a beautiful venue for your Rocky Mountain wedding, take a look at everything Flores + Pine has to offer.
Flores + Pine at a Glance:
Location: Bearspaw (approx. 30-minute drive northwest of Calgary)
Max. capacity: 136
Known for: Exquisite, locally-sourced Canadian food and a romantic, intimate atmosphere. Beautiful patio space with large outdoor fireplace.
When the Bear’s Den restaurant and Bearspaw Country Club closed, a vacuum was left to be filled. Rather than leave the local community and visitors bereft, the team behind Flores + Pine decided to create a brand new dining and event experience. At the newly renovated venue, guests can enjoy a delightful “elevated casual experience” in the restaurant and event space.
Foodies will marvel at the carefully crafted seasonal menu of locally sourced ingredients and Canadian flavours. Social butterflies will enjoy the lovingly created decor and welcoming atmosphere. And those of us who are environmentally-minded will appreciate the element of sustainability built into Flores + Pine’s menu.
One of the things we love most about this new venue is the romantic sound of the name “Flores + Pine”. And the story behind it is pretty unique.
Flores LaDue was the inspirational First Lady of the Calgary Stampede. She was a champion trick roper, working throughout the vaudeville circuit in the first half of the twentieth century. Flores LaDue and her husband were instrumental in establishing the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, an event that continues to create a sense of community throughout Calgary to this day.
She retired undefeated having helped forge a courageous and innovative path for women everywhere. While these values are at the forefront of Flores+Pine’s mission, they continue to draw inspiration from Flores LaDue’s “force of nature” approach in everything they do.
Flores + Pine as a venue has been designed with all your moments in mind. From engagements to elopements and weddings, they have something for everyone. This romantic rural hideaway is a beautifully intimate setting for your wedding.
Flexibility is a core part of the venue’s approach to event management, so you can customize your experience. But here’s a quick rundown on the different options you can choose from:
This room is the perfect option if you’re looking to host the entire experience in one place. No running from your ceremony to your reception venue, Flores + Pine can help you handle the whole thing in one spot. You and your guests can enjoy elegance and refinement while having enough of a blank canvas to really put your own stamp on the room for your big day. This room can also accommodate up to 100 guests comfortably.
Ideal for medium-sized events, you and your guests will love the aroma from the wood-fired grill and the dynamic atmosphere. You can even combine the Grillroom with the Atrium for a multi-level event space.
With a beautiful rustic finish and glass walls, this circular room brings the beautiful Canadian outdoors to your wedding celebration. So check this room out if you’re looking for an exclusive, private feel to your event.
We love a great outdoor space for Rocky Mountain weddings! And whether you use it as a standalone space in summer or to compliment your indoor event, the patio at Flores + Pine makes a wonderful ceremony space. With pine trees framing the area and a beautiful stone outdoor fireplace, we can’t think of a more romantic or intimate spot to say your “I do’s”.
On top of their gorgeous event spaces, Flores + Pine also offers a secluded and luxurious suite where hair, make-up, and dressing can be done ahead of the ceremony, impeccably serviced by the team.
Twenty Twenty Photography was fortunate to be among the first to document this lovely new venue. With the sun casting a splash of warmth over a wintery day in the Rockies, this old world Italian-inspired wedding shoot is the stuff of dreams thanks to the creativity of some fabulous local vendors.
We absolutely love the bridal suite available at Flores + Pine so the wedding party can enjoy a glass of bubbly before kicking things off!
Once you’re ready to go, couples and guests can make their way to The Patio for a dreamy wedding ceremony.
The crackling of the beautiful outdoor fireplace on the terrace is a gorgeous feature for your outdoor wedding ceremony.
The Prosecco Cart is a brilliant touch. It makes for a great talking point for your cocktail hour and is a beautiful feature piece to set off the aesthetic of your outdoor wedding.
The bouquet and floral design for this shoot really complimented the colour palette and overall aesthetic of the venue.
When it comes to delicious cocktails and mouthwatering food, few venues even come close to topping Flores + Pine.
We were totally in love with the beautiful table design. It perfectly represented the rustic Italian elegance that was the theme of the day!
The peach and dusty rose wedding cake was absolutely to die for, too! Also, we loved the combination of whimsy and precise detail.
We had a fantastic day shooting at Flores + Pine and we cannot wait to start capturing some real life love stories at this wonderful new venue!
