This elopement at Bow Lake with Trent + Colton is one I will never forget. I absolutely loved these two right from the get-go, and I still get emotional thinking about their day, spent at such beautiful locations around Alberta + among the magic of the Canadian Rockies. No words can describe how much I loved celebrating them and just how much I love these two, so I’ll just have to trust that you can feel the energy come through in their photos!

Trent + Colton’s Bow Lake Elopement

Modern bohemian with a touch of luxury

One of the most fun parts of working with couples to plan their elopement is seeing what their vision is for the vibe + theme of their day! Trent + Colton were picturing a whimsical day in the mountains full of romance, with modern, minimal decor that used a blend of bohemian elements and ever-so-slightly luxurious touches. This came through beautifully in their florals, which featured a gorgeous muted color palette full of earth tones and neutrals; layers of pampas grass, eucalyptus, honeycomb, and palm fans built the foundation while vibrant orange roses stole the show. Alpine Blooms did a phenomenal job with the asymmetrical arrangements that hung on the geometric wooden arbor, elevating the beauty of the mountain backdrop rather than distracting from it! This color palette also looked flawless with Trent + Colton’s light tan and sage green suits, inspired by the tones of the landscapes around them.

Striking elopement portraits at Bow Lake

It had been cloudy and rainy all day up until this point, but when we went down to Bow Lake for newlywed portraits, the sun decided to peek out of the clouds and shine just a little bit for us! Seeing Bow Lake at any time of year is an unbelievable experience, but the turquoise waters are especially striking in the summer, underneath the bright sunshine and blue skies.

A heli elopement tour with Rockies Heli

What more epic way to end your elopement than with a helicopter tour over the Canadian Rockies, where you land at a breathtaking spot that’s inaccessible by foot? Trent + Colton booked a helicopter elopement tour with Rockies Heli. Watching freshly-married couples ride in a helicopter and witness the magic of the mountains from above will never get old—it’s one of the most incredible experiences you will ever, ever have. We ventured around the snow-capped peaks, popped champagne, and enjoyed the blue skies before hopping back in the heli to head back down the mountain.
